Nine Olympic champions, five world champions and a cinema classic - convincing statistics. Arlberg is not only the native country of ski legends like Karl Schranz or Mario Matt but also the birth place of big ski brands. Over 80 years ago Anton Kästle found his inspiration for a ski which wrote the history of skiing in front of the Arlberg Massif: The "Arlberg ski". Perhaps it was on one of the runs which you have already ridden that the stirring idea came for Anton Kästle to create this first ski from ash wood, from which the brand Kästle was later made.

Traditional hotel in the Austria's Alps
Kästle was founded in Vorarlberg in 1924 and celebrated a sparkling comeback in 2007. The thrilling time between these prominent dates is the subject of the newly opened Kästle Mountain museum in the top station of the Rüfikopfbahn II. Historical pictorial material, ski models from former years and many further exhibits from the history of the successful Austrian ski brand in the exhibition can be admired. Since December 13th, 2008 the past of Kästle has its solid place at the top station Rüfikopfbahn cable car in the Kästle Mountain museum. The exhibition is open to all those interested free of charge during the operating times of the Rüfikopfbahn cable car.
