Winter feeling & advent magic at Goldener Berg - reflective, sensual & pleasurable

freedom | 11/25/2020

This autumn and the pre-christmas period are truly something very special. From the usual christmas stress there is no visibility, nobody has to rush through the stores with full shopping bags and we are forced to rethink our priorities. In the current days of calm there are great gifts, which we use at Goldener Berg.

With all senses, reflective and pleasurable. Without distraction from the everyday life - and completely alone with us - we can use the current time to devote ourselves full to the beginning of winter and the actually calm time in the annual circle. We have thought of three things that we would like to share with you - perhaps you would like to try one of it. Have a good time!

1. Good old gingerbread - low carb & heavenly delicious

What would Advent and Christmas be without the delicate smell of gingerbread that wafts through the kitchen?
We tried a super simple - and by the way healthy - low carb gingerbread recipe. The result has convinced us!

Low carb gingerbread - ingredients:

100 g ground almonds

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon cinnamon

2 tsp. gingerbread spice

1 pinch of salt

2 egg whites

2 egg yolks

50 g grated lemon peel

Low Carb gingerbread - preparation:

Mix almonds, baking powder, cinnamon, gingerbread spice and salt.

Beat the egg whites into a firm beaten egg white.

Cream the egg yolk with butter or the lemon peel.

Mix all ingredients and form a dough which is spread on a baking tray.

Bake at 150°C convection oven for 15 minutes, let cool and cut or prick into the desired shape.

A wonderfully healthy treat for the whole family!

2. DIY - winter door wreath

The winter DIY door wreath starts with a pleasant walk in the fresh air. Take natural materials you like with you - fir or spruce branches serve as the basis of the wreath, while hedge and berry branches and beautiful cones are the color highlights. Be attentive, careful and grateful when you take it from nature.

For wreath tying you can either use a long, flexible branch from a hazel bush as a wreath base or you can order a wreath circle made of natural materials in the handicraft store. Our tip: A wire coat hanger that is bent into the shape of a circle is also an excellent base!

Afterwards you tie the branches with a natural yarn around the basic form - there are no limits to the fantasy and together with the children you can create beautiful door wreaths from nature!

3. Fumigate in advent

There are different mixtures for house, humans, animal and garden - straight in the Advent have many humans desire to fumigate thoroughly. We tell you how we fumigate - with herbs from our own garden & resins from the alpine environment!

Sage - Cleaning & Clarification

Sage has always been an important medicinal plant in Europe and used to find its place in almost every garden. Besides its wonderful taste as a spice in the kitchen, we prefer to use the green leaves dried as a smoking plant. Sage cleans and clarifies and provides a good indoor climate!

Pine resin - heals old wounds & provides harmony

Instead of resorting to incense and resins from distant countries, we collect some tree resin in the local forests every year. The resin has to be dried well (approx. 12 months) and can then be used as incense. It heals old wounds and provides harmony - besides, we love to work with the power of the alpine nature!

Now we have time - a commodity that many people wanted more and more the last years. We use these months for ourselves - to stand grounded, to use the power of nature at the current time of the year and to breathe more of the original peace and depth back into Advent and Christmas.

Let yourself be well.

All love & see you soon!
