The Arlberg ski area is one of Europe’s largest and most beautiful winter sports areas. The Arlberg ski area has earned its worldwide reputation in every respect with its 88 lifts, 305 km of prepared pistes, and more than 200 km of untouched powder and spring snow slopes. Our hotel is right next to the piste: ski in, ski out!
Construction of the Auenfeldjets lift enabled a link between Lech Zürs and Warth, expanding the ski area by a further 14 lifts and 80 km of prepared pistes. Also, since December 2016, the Flexenbahn lift made Ski Arlberg into the largest interconnecting ski area in Austria.
Winter sports at their very best between 1200 m and 2800 m above sea level. The ski area naturally divides into areas to the west and the east of the Flexenpass. To the north west are the Vorarlberg resorts of Lech, Zürs and Stuben, whilst to the south you have the Tyrolean resorts of St. Anton and St. Christoph. The Hotel Goldener Berg stands above the Lech rooftops in Oberlech, a fairytale snowscape.
Skiing in the Arlberg region: no buses, no cars, no traffic, just snowy mountain peaks and slopes under a thick, soft covering of snow.
The front door of the Goldener Berg is also your entrance to the Arlberg ski area. The hotel is right next to the piste, and thanks to the height of Oberlech (1750 m above sea level), there are great snow conditions from November through to May.
Take a look at the ski panorama and plan your first runs in the Arlberg powder snow. This is where skiing as a sport began and there is nowhere else where the ski schools have such a fantastic international reputation. The Arlberg ski schools are some of the best in the world. Perfect your skiing with professional instruction, or learn to make your initial turns in your first skiing lessons.
