November marks the start of the winter season in the Arlberg region. Snowflakes start to fall and create a deeper and deeper covering of snow. By the end of November the first lifts open. Are you ready to make your first turns on the piste? Or would you prefer to enjoy the peacefulness of your first ski tour? The clear blue sky makes the fresh snow glisten and you and your loved ones can breathe in the fresh, clear mountain air and enjoy the views of the majestic white peaks.
Helmet, warm ski clothing, ski boots, skis, and sticks. That’s all you need for a day on the piste, and your adventure can begin right on the doorstep of your ski resort. Or, challenge your friends to a race on the World Cup slopes in the Arlberg region, enough to bring the best World Cup racers out in a sweat.
With the sun shining and the wind in your face, you can feel every fibre in body. Sense the freedom, nature, and yourself on an untouched slope. Want to know what it feels like? Try it; you don’t have to go far from the Hotel Goldener Berg to do so..
One of the many things that make Arlberg unique is that it is the only place in Austria where heli-skiing is possible. Jump like a stuntman from the runners of the helicopter into the powder snow, and start an unforgettable ride. If you’re interested, let us know when making your booking and we can put you in touch with the helicopter company or make an appointment for you.
Passionate about spring skiing and skiing in the sun? From March, enjoy perfect conditions in the Arlberg region. Feel how you glide stylishly into the valley on the spring snow and in the afternoon swap your touring equipment for T-shirt and sunglasses. With a cool drink in your hand instead of sticks, rest on a deckchair on the sun terrace at the Hotel Goldener Berg and enjoy the sun. The afternoons with a DJ providing the music are really something special.
But there are other things available too! Prepared winter hiking paths lead along the Hochtannberg into the valley, or take you up higher if you like, to remote places, wonderful viewpoints, and cosy huts where the “Kaiserschmarrn” is already cooking. Or put some cross-country skiing shoes on, you’ll love it!
Warmly wrapped up in hat, scarf, and gloves, head down to Lech at full speed on the toboggan run. Maybe you are a romantic? If so, take your loved one on a snowshoe walk in the evening under the sparkling Alpine sky. Or, cuddle up in a warm blanket on a horse-drawn sleigh ride, the sound of the horses and their bells in your ears as you head out over snow-covered trails from neighbouring Zug. And if you fancy iceskating, the Hotel Monzabon has a large ice rink, whilst in Zürs there is a natural open-air ice rink for your elegant moves. Alpine curling is also an activity that can be enjoyed by all ages together.
Trudging through the snow, a selfie before you head down an untouched powder slope, dancing with loved ones in beautiful scenery as the snow is falling. There is so much to discover in Arlberg!
Guests of all ages love it here at the Goldener Berg. Kids experience fantastic adventures, and mums and dads enjoy the perfectly prepared pistes or relaxing together in the Alpine Spa.
Our “Kinderclub” children’s club is open daily from 09:00 to 13:00 and from 16:00 to 21:00.
